Our Story.

We got tired of watching people we care about disappear into their phones. You know the feeling—scrolling endlessly through content chosen by algorithms, not by you. Liking posts from people you barely know while the friends sitting next to you do the same thing. We kept asking ourselves: when did social media stop being about actual social connection?

That’s when we decided to flip the script.

What if instead of feeding you content, we gave you the tools to create moments worth experiencing in real life? What if your social feed was tied to actual places you’ve been, with people you actually know? So we built project sondAR—a spatial sharing platform that gets you off the couch and into the world, creating AR experiences that exist where you put them, visible to your expanding list of friends. No algorithms deciding what you see. No strangers. No endless scroll. Just you, your friends, and the real world around you turned into a creative canvas.

We launched a pilot program with Craft Contemporary using Project sondAR Lite. This enabled us to prioritize the rapid development and deployment of core product features for the museum’s vision of extended and accessible digital play within the exhibit spaces.

By reshuffling our existing platform product feature set, we quickly delivered an elegant solution that allows visitors to access interactive content for individual artworks, while curators gained immediate control through an intuitive content management system.

The agile nature of the platform has allowed us to introduce new feature sets with each new exhibit, continuously expanding capabilities from basic AR pins and audio tours to social engagement tools, visitor commentary features, and analytics dashboards—demonstrating how the pilot’s success is driving ongoing innovation and preparing for museum-wide scaling.

This swift, iterative approach not only validated the technology’s viability but also empowered Craft Contemporary to evolve their digital storytelling capabilities in real-time, matching new features to the unique needs of each exhibition while building toward a comprehensive visitor engagement ecosystem and full feature set for the app.

It is the perfect addition for folks that are interested in learning more but are a bit too shy to engage with the tours I offer. I have seen many people in the gallery turn down a tour, start listening, and then engage with me and ask great questions shortly thereafter.
